One row per calendar month — enter the bank statement's ending balance, confirm the match against your books, and close the month when it's final.
💡 Every month the bank issues its statement, come here, type in the Statement Ending Balance from that PDF/CSV.
ClearLedger compares it to your books' closing balance for that month. Once it matches, click ✓ Confirm Reconciled, and when you're
ready to make it permanent, click 🔒 Lock Month — this is a manual action, nothing locks automatically. A locked month uses the same
Period Lock as Chart of Accounts, so transactions in that range can't be changed until an Admin/Supervisor reopens it.

Chart of Accounts
QuickBooks account names — edit to match your client's COA. Rules auto-map bank transactions to these accounts.
📑 Account Mapping Rules
Each rule maps a bank transaction pattern (description keyword) to a QuickBooks account. Drag to reorder priority.
🏢 Company Rules
Rules that apply ONLY to the active company — not shared with other clients
🏢 These rules are company-specific — they only apply when this company is active. When you switch to another client, these rules are automatically removed. Perfect for vendor names, specific payees, and client-unique patterns.
Select a company to see its rules.
🧠 Smart Rules
Learned from your reclassifications — auto-applied to future CSVs
💡 How it works: Every time you reclassify a transaction, ClearLedger learns the pattern and automatically categorizes similar transactions — in this session and all future CSVs. Just like QuickBooks memorized transactions.
No rules learned yet. Reclassify a transaction to get started.
📋 QuickBooks Account List — Edit & Remove
Edit any account name directly — changes apply immediately to all reports. Remove accounts not needed for this client.
Use 💾 Save Rules to File above to make changes permanent.
🔒 Period Lock
Close a reconciled period to prevent further changes
Once a period is closed, transactions dated within that range can no longer be reclassified, excluded, or unposted —
even by an Admin — until the period is explicitly reopened. Every close and reopen action is recorded in the Audit Log.
Use this once you've confirmed a month's reconciliation is final (e.g. after Post to Books + Export Backup).
